Embery, the perfect combination of quality and aesthetics

If you've been in the hookah world for a few years, you're probably familiar with the hookah brand Embery, and even if you're newer to the scene, you’ve likely heard of it as well. Thanks to the quality of its products, it remains in the market year after year, constantly updating. Embery is a Ukrainian brand that, while it started long ago in the premium hookah market, began designing more affordable and accessible hookahs for the general public a few years ago. Although they have released many versions and models, we will focus on the two hookahs that have made this brand so well known: the Embery Mono and the Embery Mini Mono.

Let’s start from the beginning, Embery Mono

Around 2018 the Embery Mono hookahs started gaining popularity in the Spanish market. These hookahs stood out in a sector that still had much room to grow in Spain, especially due to their aesthetics and designs, which made them appear as premium, exclusive hookahs, but for around 180 euros instead of 300, as was common. The Embery Mono hookahs were made of stainless steel and anodized aluminum, but this wasn't the key factor that made them stand out, rather it was the novelty they brought to our market.

Embery Mono launched with two versions: Embery Mono Wave and Embery Mono Wood. The latter, as you can imagine from the name, was notable for its wooden stem, making it very attractive to the market at the time. However, the Embery Mono Wave not only became the most successful but also served as inspiration for future versions such as the Embery Mono 4.0 and, most importantly, paved the way for the creation of Embery’s flagship product: the Embery Mono Mini.

One thing to note is that the Embery Mono hookahs entered the market with a “modern chamber” or “open chamber.” This is something often seen in large hookahs, and while it's not a disadvantage, it’s important if you like to fully purge your hookah.

However, what was most notable about the Embery Mono was its aesthetic leap compared to other competitors. While other options with the same quality and striking designs existed at the time, Embery was a pioneer in doing things differently. Nowadays, there are all kinds of hookahs with different aesthetics, like the El Bomber hookahs, but it’s important to highlight the role this Ukrainian brand played, especially with its successor, the Embery Mono Mini.

Embery Mono Mini, because size isn’t everything

Small hookahs have been around for a while, such as the famous Mya Bambino that every veteran knows or the Oduman N2 Travel, and as expected, Embery also created its own mini hookah concept, likely one of the most talked about small hookahs in the industry: the Embery Mono Mini.

The Embery Mono Mini was launched in the early 2020s, and since then, it has been widely discussed, both in its first version and in the later updates and custom models. Standing at about 35 centimeters tall, the Embery Mono Mini followed the quality material standards of its predecessors, using stainless steel and anodized aluminum. Additionally, the hookah came fully equipped with a base, hose, and mouthpiece, and with a rather unique design. While the geometric design that characterized the stems of the Embery Mono was no longer present, this uniqueness was visible in its tray, which deviated from the standard with its irregular shape.

Another key difference from its predecessor was in the purge. The Embery Mono Mini had a traditional chamber, and its purge was located directly above the chamber, causing the smoke to fall like a waterfall down the base when purged. This demonstrated how Embery was able to read the market and adapt this new hookah to its competitors, not only innovating in aesthetics but also in practical terms.

Looking at its future trajectory, the Embery Mono Mini was a huge success from the moment it launched, but the innovation didn’t stop there. Over time, updates were released such as the Embery Mono Mini 2.0, which included improvements like a diffuser on its immersion tube, a double purge system, and new designs. The brand started to innovate especially in the aesthetics of its hookahs, adding more details to the trays and incorporating resin as a way to decorate the stems. So much so that the brand’s official YouTube channel showed users how to upgrade their original Embery Mono Mini with accessories from the 2.0 line.

This is how the concept of the Embery Mono Mini 2.0 Custom was born, allowing users to completely personalize their hookah and distinguish it from others. Engraved trays, matching stems and chambers with the base… The Embery Mono Mini 2.0 Custom became a form of personal expression, something not yet widely explored in the industry. Beyond the personal satisfaction of owning a customized hookah, this model had a massive impact on the hookah world, especially for enthusiasts who saw in the Embery Mono Mini a modern, eye-catching, and above all, affordable and compact hookah. It’s a perfect example of how small hookahs can be just as efficient as larger ones, and for that, we owe thanks to brands like Embery.
